The brand name Crafter and the company's own manufacturing site, which is one of the most modern factories in Asia, are symbols for the successful match of high-tech production and the traditional craft of guitar-making. Even in 1972, when HunKwon Park and his four employees began their conquest of the Korean market with classical guitars, top quality and excellent value were two concepts closely connected with his brand name Sungeum. HunKwon's son InJae Park, who has been running the company since 1986, has established Crafter as a world-famous brand wich matches these virtues like no other. Although today's guitars are produced using state-of-the-art industrial engineering, a great amount of craftwork still goes into the making of each guitar. And while more thatn 60,000 instrumetns leave the factory each year, every single one of them has its own personality. Guitars bearing the Crafter logo have always been distinguished instruments with their own unique personality - not only in terms of sound. Beautiful woods and the great care taken in the production of each individual instrument ensure that they also look great! Innovations like the novel bridge design, the newer, finer varnish as well as new measurements, sizes and shapes not only creat a unique look, thery are also a major factorin giving each instrument it's individual character. They are stepping stones in the creation of new instruments - new, self-confident characters in the family of Crafter guitars. Advanced high-tech machinery is used where top-precision and detailed work is required or where manual work would be too time-consuming. But it takes more thatn machinery to make a guitar. The virtures of traditional craftmanship wtill play a major role in the making of a Crafter guitar. The large amount of manual craftsmanship that goes into its making turns every single Crafter guitar into a truly unique instrument. |
The woods used in making of an instrument are not only the basis for its sound and look, they also provide its soul. And because the quality of a Crafter guitar is not a matter of chance, no compormises are made in the choice and treatment of the instrument's basic material. From selection to storage and then to production the greatest care is taken to ensure that the wood is in perfect condition as it becomes part of a quality instrument. At the heart of a great sounding acoustic guitar is carefully selected wood for the top and for this Crafter uses Engelmann spruce, Sitka spruce, German Alpine spruce or Canadian cedar to ensure the best possible tone. Their great variety of shapes, versatility in sound and high quality of craftsmanship make Crafter guitars internationally renowned instruments. Wheather employed live or in the studio, played acoustically or amplified, used for folk, country or blues music - Crafter guitars with their different shapes and sounds offer the ideal instrument for guitarists all over the world for every occasion. A Crafter guitar is often the realization of a long held dream.
